Rent Supplement Programs
IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING RENT SUPPLEMENTS:
As directed by the Government of Alberta, no new applications for rent supplements are being accepted at this time while the existing programs are being reviewed for consistency of benefits and to ensure households that need assistance most are prioritized.
The Government of Alberta's rent supplement programs provide financial assistance to households in need within the Leduc Region to help them obtain and maintain affordable and suitable rental accommodation.
The Direct to Tenant Rent Supplement Program (DTRS) supports families and individuals within the Leduc Region in their current accommodation, to a maximum of $450.00 per month. Program funding, criteria and qualification is established by the AB Government department Alberta Seniors and Housing.
The Private Landlord Rent Supplement Program (PLRS) is a provincially subsidized program which allows seniors, individuals, and families to rent from a private landlord at 30% of their income, LRHF provides the subsidy directly to the Landlord for the balance of the rent. LRHF works closely with many private landlords within the Leduc Region to provide subsidies for qualifying applicants. Program funding, criteria and qualification is established by Alberta Seniors and Housing.
